​After many meaningful years as Painted Gypsy Camp, this beloved gathering returns under a new name, Painted Muse Retreat.
​One that reflects both where we’ve been and where we’re going.

The heart of the retreat remains unchanged.
The spirit is still the same.

What has changed is the intention: deeper, more rooted, and thoughtfully curated for the women we’ve become.

Painted Muse Retreat is a slow, soulful art retreat created for women who long to reconnect with creativity in a way that feels meaningful, gentle, and unhurried. It is an invitation to step away from noise and expectation, and to return to art as a practice of noticing, gathering, and remembering.

The Retreat Theme

Beauty Hunter, Volume I
A Key to Unlock Creativity

This year’s retreat is designed as the first “volume” in an ongoing creative series, an experience meant to be collected, remembered, and returned to.

The Beauty Hunter is not about finding more.
It is about noticing what is already here.

Over the course of one intentional weekend, women will gather around paint-stained tables to create, explore, and rest.
​The atmosphere is unpressured,  rooted in old-world beauty, quiet inspiration, and shared creative energy.

During the retreat, participants will experience:
  • One large, guided painting project
  • A variety of smaller creative practices
  • Lettering, collage, and mixed-media exploration
  • A beautifully curated Field Journal (Volume I)
  • Time to work slowly, reflect, and wander creatively
  • Encouraging guidance paired with generous personal space

There is no rush to finish.
No expectation to perform.
No pressure to create anything “perfect.”

This retreat honors process over product and presence over productivity.

The same warmth, creativity, and community remain, now wrapped in a name and vision that honor growth, intention, and longevity. This retreat is designed to be revisited, collected, and carried forward like a well-loved book or a treasured journal.

Meet Your Teacher, Tiffany Foster Smith

Tiffany Foster Smith of The Painted Jackalope & Muse will lead us in our painting time. Her art has been sold all across the United States at various shows like Vintage Market Days and Country Living Fairs. Her artwork has been featured on HGTV's Fixer to Fabulous show. She is a joy to be around and loves to help others discover their abilities.

Your choice:
Follow along with the instructor or bring your own projects. This time is for you. We will be here to help in any way we can. ​Like many of Tiffany’s other classes, you will have the freedom to choose your own color palette and/or subject matter for many of the projects. Please feel free to bring inspiring sketches and photographs. We encourage you to start an inspirational Pinterest board before your arrival.

You do not have to be an “artist” to participate. All levels are welcome.

*A private Facebook group will be available to introduce yourself and meet others before the camp. You will be able to talk about travel arrangements before your trip, such as sharing rides, hotels, etc.
​
Also, links to Airbnb, hotels, and attractions will be available on the group page.

900pm- Set up studio spaces for the weekend.

Please bring your packed meals (there is a fridge) or dine out at the local restaurants
Optional: Deposit of $250 to reserve a spot. Pay before May 15th, or pay in full with the early bird price of $650
